What you need to know about BB and CC cream

Let’s be honest for a second. Do you really know what you’re putting on your face? Not me and I’ll be the first to admit it! I get Birchbox samples every month with various creams (foundations? sunscreen?) and I couldn’t tell you the first thing about them just that I put them on my face every morning. That’s right, every single day I’m putting some type of mystery goop on my face. Kinda silly, right? That’s why I decided to learn a thing or two about BB and CC creams and of course, share my new knowledge with you!

BB Cream

According to Women’s Health, this is a cream beauty balm (so that’s what BB stands for!) Here’s why you want them: They moisturize, and offer sun protection.

CC Cream

CC stands for Color Correction. These will even out your skin tone but at the same time are nice and lightweight. You can even get them with an SPF. Supergoop is one of my favorites from Birchbox.Supergoop!® Daily Correct CC Cream SPF 35+ - fair light_box
DD Cream (there’s more??)

Haven’t tried out this “Daily Defense” cream but sounds very similar to CC cream. You can get it with sun protection, it evens skin tone, plus it protects the skin.

Tinted Moisturizer

I’ve recently tried out a tinted moisturizer that I found to be similar to the creams listed above so thought it would be worth talking about. So from what I understand (and correct me if I’m wrong), BB cream is your all-in-one while the main benefit of tinted moisturizer is hydration. It doesn’t have a built-in primer like that of BB cream and doesn’t have as much lasting power.

Hopefully I’m not the only one that had no clue what these products were or the difference between them. Go ahead and try out various samples of each one (it’s the best way to determine your new favorite!). Seriously, subscribe NOW – right here!

What are we going to learn about next? YOU decide! Comment your beauty/health questions below and I’ll do my best to answer them in my next post 🙂
